Crew member on BEL666 Zed 6

Hello everyone,

After more than 24h of almost uninterrupted close hauled sailing from St-Martin to Les Saintes and on to La Desirade, we are again flying the spinnaker, and what a pleasure! We hoisted a couple hours after dark, just as the moon was rising. With a true wind angle at around 120 degrees and a perfect swell angle, Zed6 is surfing almost constantly at speeds around 17-20kt and a top run at 23kt. All 5 crew are on deck with maximum concentration, hand on the sheets. We'll have to hold on that way up to the Barbuda mark, and probably again to Redonda, that is for about 135 NM. Fortunately we don't suffer the loss of our daggerboards on these courses. Yes, we lost the second daggerboard last night after losing the first one just before the start. We'll have more on that later.

Cheers,

Olivier.
