2251 Monday night
Beautiful evening sailing along the leeward side of the island chain that includes Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Eustatia, and Saba
This is the smooth water part of the race ... but its been pretty tricky with lots of wind shifts caused by the massive topography of these volcanic islands and a few rain cells that have kept the foul weather jackets coming on and off the crew. Its been hard work - lots of sail changes so far with all the changing winds. But so far so good - we see on the tracker we have a good lead over the big boats behind us as we start to think about the next leg - in one hour we turn the corner and head upwind towards St Barths... that will be a bumpy leg... so the guys who have been off watch the last few hours have had some good sleep.
Onwards through the night sails the Rambler!
