Caribbean 600 ready to go

Posted by Rn to Rn Racing

Here we are now in Antigua. The Rn team is ready for our 1st race of the RORC Caribbean 600 race organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) in association with the Antigua Yacht Club. This is the 4th edition of this annual race. We shall race with 21 people on-board Rn II (Judel-Vrolijk designed 72-foot) starting tomorrow morning around 11am local time. You can follow the race from this link http://caribbean600.rorc.org/blog/race-information/tracking/index.html

Tonight we had our last briefing with the team before the start. An hour to review one last time the output of extensive and detailed work of our navigator and tactician. They presented what we shall see unfolding in the coming few days: course, wind, strategy, sails choices, contingency, safety... We start in Antigua, and will race close to Barbuda, then onto Nevis, Saba, Saint Martin, Saint Barthelemy, onto Guadeloupe to finish back in Antigua via Barbuda again. We are all ready for this first offshore race for Rn II this year!
